Walgreens refusing new Medicaid Patients.

It started the minute the government started to get involved. Price hikes, cuts, refusals. Doctors talking about not taking medicaid patients or insured patients. Pharmacies refusing to sell them their meds because the government won't pay them.

I wonder what my long awaited retirement will like? Unable to get medications or see doctors for what ails me. Watching those I love die of what should be treatable conditions. I never thought I would see that in this country. Have you called the white house today and told them to leave health care alone. If your on medicaid are you worried? Is this the change you expected.

If you have just been told you have a disease that is going to kill your bone and cause you a lot of pain. Make your hand deformed, and doing you job impossible so you want to stand in the yard and scream. Not easy to be fixed. We need Tort reform. No health care for people in our country illegally, And vote these fools out of office

Robins and sunshine

For the first time in I can't remember we have sunshine outside. It looks so strange. It has been weeks since I saw it. And I would say 90% of our snow has melted. I am surprised at how fast it is melting but with all the flooding around I can see where it went. And I saw my first robins yesterday. Yippy Skippy, Spring is coming. I am sure happy about that.

Worked last night without a cast. What a joy to get a good scrub in between patients. Gloves that fit, no funny looks by my patients. My hand was sore this morning but I wore my old brace off and on and Friday I get my new brace. I was charge and it was a good night.

Well, turkey burgers, minus bun for me, beets and sweet potato baked fries. Happy St Patties day to you all.

The Death of the Democratic Party

If they pass the health care reform that is exactly what should and will happen to the party. If only it wouldn't take that.

I was at my doc's today. No return of the cancer by the way. We were talking about how the government is killing the health care we know now. He says medicare is going to be cut 40%. And he predicts many doctors will be quitting including him. Or not taking insurance at all but requiring cash only patients.

He gave me a great analogy. He said, if the Brooklyn bridge collapsed who would you have come to build it again? Government senators, congressmen, Presidents, governors? Or structural engineers and professional bridge builders. He also says the government officials won't have to have the same coverage as us, they will be going to Cuba for their health care which they are building up for that purpose.

This really will be the death bill. As the cost of medicine skyrockets, doctors refuse more and more patients, doctor offices go under and care gets harder to find more people will die of their illnesses. They always say you have to kill off 10% of the population to get socialism passed. Is this how it is being planned?

Every single elected official who voted yes for this bill should be voted out of office for going against the will of the people and forcing this down our throat. My doctor said if health care reform was put into the hands of the doctors they could fix it in 20 lines, not 2700 pages. Tort reform would be way up there. No coverage for illegal immigrants. No under the table bribes and payoffs. Costs could then be reduced. Most of his overhead cost is malpractice. It doesn't matter that he has never been sued. The cost still went way up this year. As did his health coverage for his office staff, his rent for his office. His equipment and supplies.

Call your officials. Tell them to vote no. I will not vote for anyone that voted yes to this. In fact for the first time I am thinking of becoming a party member and voting a straight ticket. Because the Democrats, even if they are against this bill, they are still for what is going wrong in this country. Most of them are progressives. And by their silence they are in effect, agreeing. So bye bye.

Cast Off,

I got my cast off, thank goodness. The skin under it was peeling off. And I don't have to have it put back on.

The doc said it is the Kienbock's disease which is a real drag. Plus his treatment plan goes against everything I have read on the best way to treat it. I heard that PT actually is bad for the disease and makes it progress worse. And that in stage one surgery to get the blood supply to return to your bone gives you the best chance for a functional wrist. He is recommending PT and just watching it to see what happens. And he didn't even address all the cysts in my wrist.

The pain is still there in the wrist, but not as bad. This doctor won't address the pain issue which I am told is going to get worse. He says I have to see my primary for that. So all in all a depressing visit. but I am grateful to have the cast off. Friday I will get my brace.

2 more nights to work. I hope it goes fast and I hope I don't have to lift. I see my skin doc today. One year cancer free of the squamous type cancer. Still have some basal cell pre-cancers. So I had better pop in the shower.

Work..... Does the body good?

It has been a interesting few days at work for sure. I am taking care of isolation patients which has proved a challenge with my cast on.

First I cut a baggy apart and slip it over my cast and tape it into place. Then I have X large gloves that I put on top. That part isn't the problem. It's the gowns. We have nylon isolation gowns. They used to be paper gowns which would have, in my case, been much better. Anyway. I put the gown on and the sleeve doesn't want to go over my cast. The first time I forced it a little and got it on. Problem came when I tried to get it off. It wouldn't budge. With a friend pulling with all her might on the gown and me holding onto to the cast and my arm we did a tug of war. What a site we must have looked, LOL. Just when we decided we were going to have to cut it off it started to work its way down and I got it off. Rest of the week I have been just letting the arm hang low and putting the gloves over that.

2 days. I am counting down til the cast comes off. Oh happy days. And I see the doc and find out what his plan is. It had better not involve another cast.

I had great patients but unfortunately my back went out day one so I have been hampered by that. Maybe all that jerking trying to get the gown off. Tonight, I only work 11.5 hours. Daylight savings time. Of course our computers are going to be down for 3 hours so that will be a pain but a short night. You can't imagine what a difference one hour makes.

When I got home this morning their were about 50 turkeys in the yard. I haven't seen any all winter. A couple were limping but all in all they looked healthy. They were busy ridding the feeders of any bird seed.

It has been long enough now I can say we probably lost one of the baby deer. I have not seen it with the mother or other baby for over a month. Hard to say what happened. May have gotten poached or sick and died or hit by a car.

Well. Time to wash my brussel spouts and get them ready for supper and then wash up myself. Ta

Salt, its good stuff

Now personally I don't use much salt, I retain water. But it's a good thing. Your body has a sodium pump even. Salt makes food taste good. It is necessary to make the perfect pasta. Salt is so important it has been traded for goods.

So in our crazy crazy world of today Brooklyn Assemblyman Felix Orti wants to ban salt from the kitchens of the restaurants of New York. Gee, reason 965 not to visit that city. Unbelievable.

So stock up on your salt. Personally I think they would be better off banning liberalism in New York. And I wonder. Is NY their testing ground for how it will work for the country if their agenda goes through? Poor New York. Lets hope they don't ban apples.
