Doc visit

The doc visit went well. He thinks it is my carpal tunnel acting up big time and the great news is he pulled some strings so I can see the hand doc on Monday. Now that is impressive since it is hard to get into him. I am hoping a shot maybe of cortisone will fix me up and not surgery. And the doc told me to do all I could not to lose anymore function of my shoulder. I told him not only would I not lose more I was determined to get all my function back eventually.

I can's seem to stay away from the flower and nice weather shots. Driving wasn't bad today as far as the streets go, lots of salt, but the ice on the trees keeps crashing down on the car and sounds like it will break a windshield. The temps are up right now so it is melting and the wind picked up so it is all falling. The sounds in our woods are really cool and scary at the same time.

It is my youngest son's birthday today. 33. Wow, how did he get that old, I haven't changed a bit. And we are taking him to Chucky Cheese to eat, LOL. I had giving Luke's girlfriends kids a gift this Christmas of a pizza party at Chucky Cheese. My youngest just loves playing games with the kids and both of my son's are like kids playing the games there. So we are doing that tonight. If my youngest wants a more grownup meal we will take him for ribs tomorrow.

Well, my hand says quit. The doc says it just takes a long time for that burning in my bicep to go away. So move it move it move no matter how much it hurts. So as soon as my wrist and hand gets a little more tolerable I will.

Doc visits and ice

I have been putting old photos on the computer and fixing the damaged ones. Old photos deteriorate and I don't want to lose them. Above was my brother who passed away from cardiomyopathy when he was 37. He was so good looking and the woman just loved him. Nice guy also.

Here are the 5 of us. I am holding my unhappy little sister. I remember that apartment like it was yesterday and I had many happy memories of those times. We were so poor but I never realized how poor. My mom was good at keeping things together.

My and my brother above. The toys in the background would be worth quite a bit these days. Weird, I look the same, same chubby cheeks, just add wrinkles and several pounds, LOL

The shot above was me when I was little, still have those fat little cheeks.

We are still having rain every day and ice every night. Lots of power out around the area and the trees are getting thick with ice.

I walked Zoey out to the woods. The sounds were scary, pops and cracks and falling branches. First the small dead branches and now larger not so dead branches. Zoey insists on taking her time and will only go in the woods. Walking is treacherous and numerous walking wounded have been treated at the hospital. I walk by breaking my heel though the ice and making sure each step is solid before taking another. They are talking rain for the next 3 nights and maybe snow.

I told Rick knowing my luck I would fall and injure my arm worse. He said no, "knowing your luck you will fall and injure your good arm so that both hurt". He's right. That is the luck I am having.

I see the shoulder doctor today. If we can make it the 30 miles it takes to get there. Hopefully this will answer some questions and let me know which direction to go. Is this all from my shoulder or should I be begging to see my hand doctor sooner. I think though they will probably never say this is from my shoulder even if it was as it work comp and they don't work that way. I just want them to be straight with me, I am placing no blame, I just want to be out of pain at this point.

Well, time to go and get my shower taken. Wish me luck.

Ice Ice baby

Thanks

Thanks for the good wishes on my arm. It is welcome. I am just having a really bad time with it right now and hope it is something they can fix without surgery. I think the swelling is down somewhat today and I am trying ice instead of heat today. Hopefully I will hit on something that will lessen the pain so I can get off the pain medication. I hate the way they make me feel but I hate the pain worse.

We are having a bad ice storm. In front of the house a van got stuck. A truck came to help them, lost control and slammed into the van which still had people in it and one the driver who was out of the van narrowly missed getting his van slammed into him. The trees are all heavy and making cracking noises. Walking is impossible and Rick has been putting salt out and chipping away all day.

Since I am stuck doing not much today I watched a documentary, Food Inc. If you haven't seen I highly suggest you do. Buy local and buy natural. Support your local farmers because they are being taken over and what we are being fed is not good for us. It disgusts me seeing how our meat and produce is being grown. Diabetes has more then tripled since I started nursing. There can only be one reason. So seriously watch the movie.

Scott Brown won. I think it was a win for people not wanting this health bill shoved down our throat. But I have said this before. We need to do something about our escalating costs of health care. We have to fix the system but we can do it state by state. Not with the government. That is not their job.

Make sure the people you elect know they are elected by you do what you want, not what special interest groups want. Simple as that.

They just passed a law against feeding the wildlife in Iowa. They are afraid of the cattle getting TB from the deer. I do understand that. It will be hard keeping them out of my bird feeders though. And I can't help but thinking about all God's creatures.

Well, one handing again takes me forever. Indigo, you know what I mean, LOL. It has helped my typo's I think though. So until later.

Wow, Brown Win's

WTG, What a surprise, what a statement.

113,000 dead voters in Massachusetts

113,000 dead people appearing on the state's voter rolls. Hummm, guess I know which way they will vote. Why are they still on the rolls? Voter fraud is especially easy by computer generated voting machines. The Boston Globe already accidently posted the results of a win for Martha Coakley. Hummm, interesting indeed.

Yesterday I went to the doc. I find my entire arm is in severe pain and my hand almost useless. I got some pain meds and the doc thinks I have a severe flare-up of carpal tunnel. I see my shoulder doc on Friday. I would like to make sure it isn't a pinched nerve. I can't get into my wrist doc until next month. Maybe my shoulder doc can get it pushed up. I am totally useless in this state. My hand is all deformed looking from the swelling. Looks like it may not be a surgery free year after all. Sigh. My usual sunny outlook on life has been taking a severe beating lately.

We are expecting ice storms the rest of the week. Every tree is covered with frost. So very pretty but it can be so very dangerous. Well, can't do anymore of this. Ta all.

One more night

I have one more night to work and then a day off. And it has been brutal. My wrist and hand is just in agony. It is the worse it has ever been. I have my brace on right now but it just is the sharpest pain. I simply don't know why it has messed up so bad but my Dr appointment seems very far away in light of how acute this has become. So far nothing is giving me relief and it is keeping me awake.

This wrist and hand pain got put to the test last night when I had a very difficult confused patient. The patient wouldn't stay in bed and was so weak he couldn't stand. Being confuse the patient also became combative and argumentative. 12 hours of that was the clincher on my hands total meltdown today. Please let me not have this patient tonight. However it bothers me that I am having trouble doing my job. I hope it is just temporary.

Onward, lets see. A woman I know wants to know if I want to go into business with her. She is opening a photography store and will let me have a room to sell my photographs. It sounds like fun but I am going to turn it down. My photographs aren't consistent enough to sell them that way and I really don't want to give up my leisure time. If she will let me sell some of my photos that I have made into note cards without being committed to an entire room that would be nice though. And I can have some large photos mounted to see that have turned out well. I am going to talk to her on my day off. If I live that long. We will see what she has to offer.

Haiti is just the most tragic thing I have ever seen. They need help in the most desperate way. And it is going to be for a long time. Rebuilding will be important but do they rebuild the shanties? People are robbing the orphanage and babies are starving. It is hard to imagine in these times, these conditions. Lots of scams are popping up so if your donating money make sure it is to places that will make sure they really go to the correct place.

Well, typing with one hand is for the birds so guess I will quit. Mosey into the kitchen and see what Rick is making for supper. Take care all.. Anyone heard how Ally is doing?
