When Religion's use hate

I don't know why the new hate speech laws don't apply to this church.   After all the definition of this law is any communication which disparages anyone based on their race or sexual orientation.    This baptist preacher and his misguided followers are undeniable doing that with their hateful disgusting signs and gathering.   It just sickens me to listen to these people.   And what they are teaching their young children should be considered abuse.

I believe in freedom of speech and freedom of religion.   I don't believe in targeting a group of people because of their race sexual orientation.   Over the centuries there have been many instances of cruelty and murder done by the pious in the name of religion.   A interpretation that is unbelievable to those of us who believe in a merciful loving God.   And one that you would think as people get more educated,  move out of the dark ages of superstition and ignorance would be something you wouldn't see as much.   But it is still happening all over the world.   And that it is happening in a church of God deeply saddens me.   That people can be this cruel to others deeply saddens me.   That this quack is being given so much press.... deeply saddens me.

To the families of our soldiers.   Don't let the actions of this ignorant man stand for what the majority of people feel for the loss of your loved one.   The soldiers are in my prayers and heart each and every day.   The action of this nut job should be classified under law as a hate crime and stopped.

The Blaze

If your not reading this blog,  you should be.  Check out this violent ad put out by a dangerous radical group who also attended the recent communist rally in Washington hosted by some comedian.   This rally was very interesting.   Endorsed by Obama it had union thugs, communists, who no longer feel the need to hide, and went out of their way to make sure people had rides who went,  and weirdly a Methodist church group was there.

Just curious,  were the union members asked if they wanted their dues spent to sponsor a group that rubbed shoulders with ACORN members,  whoops they have a new name now.  Or the new communist party which openly held their signs high?

So anyway.  Check out the Blaze and check out these oh so scary stories.   Is this our bright new world?

A day at the Fair

Riverssance Festival this year was a blast.    The Carilon player  Frank DellaPenna was so great.  I even bought a CD and I usually don't.  It was that cool.

    The music held you mesmerized.

His theatrics were great.   Then of course we went to the smoker where they passed out cigars,  beer by the gallon and smoked turkey wings that were yummy.   Oh, and rowdy jokes and songs.   It was a good time.

Snake dancers

Pirates

And my friend Garie as the Mudman.   Had to laugh, he's covered with mud but using a napkin to keep the turkey juice off his clothes.

Then we wandered around and looked at the exhibits.

Giant Irish Wolfhounds.

Look at that face

And of course we watched the Jousting.   I love the huge horses.

And of course the knights fight to the end.

So anyway it was a great way to spend the day.   Today we are getting ready for a long bike ride.   I have a turkey leg to work off.

Happy Sunday

It is a chilly Sunday in Iowa.  But it promises to be a great day so later we are going to the Riverssance fest. to see our friend the Mudman again.   Should be fun at the smoker listening to music and eating smoked turkey legs.   They are also having a Carillon artist playing this unique instrument.  I hear he is amazing so I hope to get some great shots.

So since we are going to be drinking beer and eating a big turkey leg this afternoon we are going to the gym this morning.     I am loving the gym.   We seem to take about 2 hours to do our workout.   I do the treadmill about 45 minutes and ride the bike then work out with the weights and do some squats and lunges.   Rick is a maniac on the bike.   And the dog,  he is down a pant size and is looking really good.  I wish my gut would shrink so good.   But I am feeling great and can do that awful elliptical longer then 5 minutes now.

My grandson's birthday is next week.  It is hard to believe how fast he is growing up.   I sure miss having them around.  But I love Toy's R us on-line.  He just makes a list of things he would like and I can buy it and have it shipped knowing it will be something he likes and that no one else has gotten it for him.  Takes the guess work out of it.  Us long distance gramma's have to do what we can.

My niece is going to have her first baby in a couple of weeks.   A new chapter of her life.   I am excited for her.    She is so beautiful I know the baby will be cute.  I haven't seen a photo of her husband but I know the baby will be a joy for them.

My oldest will be 35 this year.   How the heck did that happen?   It seems like just yesterday I was the one having a new baby.  Time flies so fast.

Politics,  well you knew I couldn't post without saying something.   I think they will be dirtier then ever this year.   The democrats are already busy digging up dirt and evading the real issues.  And they are doing the usual voter fraud of absentee voting and bringing out the dead.   I am wondering if some of the funding is coming from the non-existent district 00 where they send some of the stimulus money.   And they are using plenty of union dues on the appointee's of their choice.  Personally I don't think union dues should be used for campaign funding.   Breeds corruption   Course they are known for that.  Voting time is coming up fast.  I have picked my candidates, have you?
