It's Official

I have started my Christmas shopping. All of 2 gifts, well maybe 3 if the one I bought on ebay ever goes through.

I haven't shopped on ebay for a long time. I haven't sold on ebay since they changed things around so terribly. Now I remember why, LOL. They make it way harder then it needs to be. But hopefully we will get it straightened out and I will get my dinosaur gastroliths. Fossils are just sediment of the earth which have replaced the bones making an image. But genuine dinosaur gastroliths are the stones found in the rib cages of dinosaurs where their digestive tract would have been. They were swallowed to aide in digestion so they are actual stones from millions of years ago. Of course you could argue that all stones are from the dinosaur age and be correct..... but there is something cool about thinking of it rattling around inside a dinosaur. Or maybe I am just weird. Either way I know someone how would be thrilled to get this for Christmas.

I also bought myself a trilobite. A museum is going out of business, how does that happen, and they are selling all their stock. I got it for a good price. Just think about how old it is. Maybe 540 millions of years old. So cool. The one below isn't the one I got, but mine looks almost identical.

I am having a hard time with Christmas this year. My gut is saying practical, practical. But what fun are practical gifts? I have to get out of the mindset that the gifts have to be unique things they would want but wouldn't buy themselves. Now I think about gifts to ease the financial times of the coming months. Things like salt for the water softener, fire extinguishers for the kitchen. Gift certificates to the grocery stores. Toilet paper, (how fun is that). But I would be thrilled with it if there was a shortage. Plus I don't think you should spend a lot. I personally don't NEED anything. I want things, but I don't need anything. I would be happy if we can just spend the day together and everyone is happy and healthy. But I will be working.

I liked it when a few years back I just bought fun and unusual gifts. Heck with the cost. Now I am careful with every penny. Honest, the dino puke was cheap!

Got through yesterday without any problems. Take that Friday the 13th.. It rained and was cold. Today I am going to the art museum because they have a great new photography exhibit, later we are all going to a wine and cheese tasting and after that to a play a friend of ours is in. Should be a fun day. And the sun is shining.

Well, time to get the wash in the dryer. I am getting my housework out of way early. The rest of the day will be just for fun. Have a great weekend all.

Made it through my week

Getting back into the swing of working nights again has been a little tuff. I am sore and sleepy. Yesterday I had PT before work so the shoulder was pretty stiff. What with sleeping and working I haven't had time to exercise it like I was. I can feel the scar tissue building up. But I made it the week and will play catchup this week. Darn arm is so weak..

Work went well. I had nice patients, sick but nice. I was exposed again to the HINI flu so have to take my temp everyday for 10 days and let them know if I get a sore throat or cough. Heck half the staff I work with had that. I am practically the only one not coughing. Yet The patients are coughing and not doing a good job about covering their mouth either. So it is just a matter of time. I have been doing double time hand washing. eating C , D and zinc and taking it careful. Hopefully I won't get it.

My bone density scan turned out great this time. Last year my scan was in the red, they told me not to fall, I would break,, this year its all in the green. yippy. Taking the calcium and d really worked. In fact I don't have to go back anymore. They have been following me for 8 years so this is good news

I hear Obama is going to start letting prisoners out during the day to do volunteerism. Hope this isn't where he plans to get his police force from. More thugs to join ACORN members. I couldn't see honest police and national guard doing what he will be wanting them to do. Keep us angry mobsters in line.. Remember....we are more of a threat the the terrorist who once again murdered innocent American's on their own soil. Of course we can't call it a hate crime. Whites are the only ones who commit hate crimes. Sick and tired and I refuse to be politically correct anymore. You look and act like someone who will do harm in our country, I am going to call you on it. Just go home and be hateful there. God doesn't really want you murdering people. What are you thinking. It just makes no sense. I am so glad my God wants me to love my neighbor. But now a days I will do it carrying a big loud stick.

Well, bedtime. I was so busy and my shoulder is throbbing. Sleep is calling my name.

Reagan, a Great President, Tear Down This Wall

Today is the anniversary of this great moment. Listen to the tape.

Made it through the week

My first week back on nights went fact. I came home for 8 hours on saturday for LC and yesterday I worked the entire 12 hours as the Telemetry tech. Boy is that fun on these old eyes counting all those tiny squares. If I ever do that again better bring a magnifying glass. But it is always interesting to do something different once in awhile.

Today I get my dextra scan to see who my bones are.. Have you ladies had one yet? I am hoping mine is improved since I started the calcium and vit D. This might be the last one I get since I start on a new insurance in Jan and depending on what our government does we may not get them anymore anyway.

I woke up this afternoon to the lovely smell of stew. Yum, my stomach started growling and I went into the kitchen expecting to find the crock pot simmering away. Hummmm, nothing there? Turns out Rick had made Zoey a lovely dinner. Sheesh, no wonder the dog hasn't lost any weight on her diet. Me either for that matter. Sure smelled good though. Saturday I woke up to the smell of fresh bread as he baked some cinnamon and raisin bread. That was for us. I love a man who cooks.

Zoey still has the sore but it looks better. Not as angry looking. And with the cooler weather she is thrilled to be taking long walks again. She sure doesn't look like there is anything wrong with her. And Chester, the guinea pig has recovered. I read where a couple of ferrets and a cat caught the swine flu from their owners so I was afraid we might has infected him but thank goodness he is better. He is such a sweet little furry critter. I would miss him if he scampered off to the rainbow bridge.

Now just a short thing on the health care issue. I will be the first to admit we have a huge problem with health care in this country.. And not because people aren't insured..You can walk into any hospital in the country and get treated whether your insured or not. You just have to pay for it. But the over charging and double billing and mess is a nightmare. But. This health care bill isn't just about the health care.

The government taking forced control over your life's is what this is about. This bill will give them total control over your life's. They will be able to withdraw money from your bank account if necessary to get the money to pay for your coverage. They are robbing from the rich to pay for the coverage. But only certain rich people. Our vice president is worth millions but he won't have to pay, this doesn't pertain to them. Good ole Nancy Pelosi won't have to part with her millions to pay for us, Al Gore will be able to rack in the millions on his scam happily forever. Micheal Obama will still be able to have her 22 personal assistants on our buck. (by the way, that is 21 more then any first lady has every had, whoops take that back, Hiliary had 3).

The people who worked hard and built their business from the ground up, the small business who had the audacity to be successful, he will pay. Hopefully some of the loud mouth actors and actress, here me Opra.... they will pay. And we will pay. Each and every one of us. For the super government rich who don't have to, because most of us will be denied care for many of the things we take for granted. And they say it will cost each of us about $15,000 to buy their insurance. That is twice what I pay now. For less coverage. And the small business person? That is forced to buy insurance for staff. They will close their doors.

India, a very poor country, is buying gold because they see the near future where our dollar is worth nothing, You have the So called Treasure hunters going town to town buying your broken gold and silver. Yeah, they know what will be the only thing worth money in this new future of ours. Tell you what. I will give you a dollar more then anything they offer you. And personally, I would not be surprised if the government isn't behind that little program. And no, I am not paranoid. I would have never believed all the real and true things this government has done. I mean just look, we had a man in NY change the law so he could run for office again and then spend 100 million or more to buy his way into office. What. Heaven forbid the law pertain to him. Trust me. There is so much more then just the healthcare bill.. this is a government seizure of your life. It is a overthrow. They all need to go.

Gee, on my soapbox again. sorry. Have I mentioned how mad I am. I am.. I AM. I AM Angry.

Well, time to go get ready for my scan. Here's to good bone health.

Time to Fire the entire government

The photo of Pelosi gleefully wringing her greedy hands together in anticipation of ruining our life just makes me want to hurl. This is it, the socialist have taken over our country. 200 politicians scum went against the voters majority. I don't care what party. They all stink. And the ramifications are already being felt as layoffs and restructuring has already started where I work. Goodbye to the greatest health care in the world. Goodbye to thousands of jobs. Goodbye to our money. My flag is at half mast today for it truly is the end of the world and our futures as we know it.

Back on the night shift.

Try as I might I ended up waking up yesterday around 6 am and then worked my night shift last night. 26 hours later I crawled into bed exhausted, in pain, but happy to be back on the floor. I just really missed it.

I had some lovely patients last night, cheerful and friendly and happily easily fixed which made us all happy. It was a good night. I was almost purring I was so happy.

However. My gosh everyone at the place is coughing their lungs out. Almost all the staff, 3/4 of the patients, visitors. Everyone but me with with the odds stacked against me this tall it will probably just be a matter of time. I am eating zinc, vit c and d like candy. Please don't let me get that cough I had for over 2 months last winter. Fortunately they say they don't feel sick, just have this terrible cough.

Today I caught up on my sleep. Watched some videos on the rally in Washington from yesterday. I was proud at how peaceful and sane it was. I can only hope and pray it does something. This video shows some of the people that had questions and support those politicians who actually came and answered some questions. We have questions, give us the answers. There is a great interview with a doctor. Turns out AARP is now supporting Obamacare because they are promising to use their insurance. So it is all about the money. Go figure.
