As you can see we have had some high water in Iowa and one of our trails is under water. As a result of all the rain and water we are being plagued with Mosquitoes. The little blood suckers are everywhere and you have to make a mad dash to your car to prevent getting bit. 4 or 5 will get in and then you have to smack them down our they continue their feast while you drive across town.
I usually hate putting bug spray on but I am this year. Nasty little critters. If it isn't the ticks it's these.
Well the kids are gone and I am back to a quiet boring house. I agree Misty, I would love it if families all lived together. I always liked having my kids here and their kids. Big noisy chaotic mess of fun.
Tomorrow I am going to call my doc and see if he will give me a work release for the 17 like we originally planned. Work expects me back and that is when I thought I would be going back. But I don't see him until the 30th. My wrist is coming along pretty good thanks to therapy.
I also went to a therapist about my knees. He gave me some exercises to try and strengthen them. The left one is still so swollen and if I overdo it they are pretty painful but I also think they are getting better. If they continue to be a problem I may get shots in them. I want conservative treatment if possible.
Summer is almost over. The time seems to have flown by. Sad isn't it. Soon I will be back to work and making some good money again. Its a good thing.

Summer sure has flown by here too. I could use an extra month of it..
What use do mosquitos make? I hate them too--they should be all destroyed! I'm sure they are on this Earth for a reason, but why?! Julie
BOO! Pictures are still fabulous! Been missing in action but hopefully back on a normal schedule.
Maybe you could send some of that rain our way. Here in PA everything is so dry and burning away, it looking like we live in a dessert.
I am looking out my kitchen window as I write and it is raining again! Everywhere is a luscious verdant green. We have not had the best of summers. Only the garden has. I hope we have an Indian summer in the autumn to make up for it Julie.
I see you have had your grandbabies to stay. It is so hard to let them go...isn't it? I too have had a busy summer with visitors from Australia and Scotland as well as family so I haven't been around much.
I will be having both my son and daughter staying with their 'munchkins' for a week beginning 23 August. We will certainly make hay...if the sun shines. lol
I hope your knees sort themselves out soon. Well done you for keeping up with the diet and exercise. You are a STAR!
Take care
Hugs
