Cast Off,

I got my cast off, thank goodness. The skin under it was peeling off. And I don't have to have it put back on.

The doc said it is the Kienbock's disease which is a real drag. Plus his treatment plan goes against everything I have read on the best way to treat it. I heard that PT actually is bad for the disease and makes it progress worse. And that in stage one surgery to get the blood supply to return to your bone gives you the best chance for a functional wrist. He is recommending PT and just watching it to see what happens. And he didn't even address all the cysts in my wrist.

The pain is still there in the wrist, but not as bad. This doctor won't address the pain issue which I am told is going to get worse. He says I have to see my primary for that. So all in all a depressing visit. but I am grateful to have the cast off. Friday I will get my brace.

2 more nights to work. I hope it goes fast and I hope I don't have to lift. I see my skin doc today. One year cancer free of the squamous type cancer. Still have some basal cell pre-cancers. So I had better pop in the shower.

Well, at least your cast is off. I do hope that you continue to improve. Well done on your first year clear. I am hoping to get my third year clear come June. Fingers crossed.

At last! Thank goodness it is now off Julie!
I'm sorry your Docto isn't tuned into this disease you have. I hope you areable to get around it with another one.
Congratulations on beig free from your sqamous cancer. My sister had that in her labias and had to have them removed. That was 7 years ago. No problems so far except for oedema.
She too had the basal cell carcinomas on her temple and head. They have been succesfully treated too. So you see...there is hope that yours will behave and stay away.
I wish you all the best at work and hope that the nights fly by without your having to use your wrist.
Hugs
