Yesterday it was 6 weeks from my surgery and today was my post op visit. I was really looking forward to it as I knew if I asked very very nice I would get off my torturous day shift desk job. Seriously I am happy they had work for me to do, don't get me wrong. And there is nothing wrong with a desk job. But I am a floor nurse. I love patient care. And I have been missing it terribly.

I sit in my tiny stuffy office. Out in the halls I listen to the nurses visiting with their patients. Joking and doing what I love best to do. I look at the computer and sigh. It doesn't talk back to me. It is simply boring. And I am fast on the computer. So the jobs they give me to do are done way too soon. And nothing is worse then having nothing to do. I like being busy.
My computer was messed up also. The screen shimmers and shakes. There are ghosts in it. By the time I get home I have a throbbing headache. Finally I called the computer guy who told me the monitor was shot. They will replace probably after I am gone. The next walking wounded should at least have a better screen.
Tomorrow is Ricks birthday. I really want to celebrate and took the day off. He thinks he had another TIA last week. At the store he suddenly forgot how to write the check. I am so worried about him.
And Zoey. We found a new growth on her hind leg. Angry looking raised thing about the size of a large pea with a red rim and black crust on top. I need to get her into the vet on monday. Payday has to come first and she isn't acting like it bothers her. But she is having some problems and the other growths are larger.

Well, the leaves have all fallen off the trees. The leaves above are from our pear tree. I gathered them wet from the ground. They are all different colors. I tried to preserve them using glycerin like it said but the leaves still are turning brown. Fading fast, colors of fall, wish there was a way to make them last.
I signed up for a blog a day with my photo blog. I need to get out with my camera. Find me some new ghosts. If you want to play just visit the site. You don't need to take photos, just do an entry a day.

Happy Birthday Rick! great leaves photos. happy to hear everyone is recovered from that bug you had. here's hoping you're back on your regular shift soon. being at the computer all day would drive me bonkers...hugz!
Happy Birthday to your Rick. I hope he's on a blood thinner. Light duty sucks when your waiting to get back to work. However, it's better than no job at all. So many people get let go when they have an injury that prevents them from doing their normal job. When I hurt my back (OJI) I was lucky that the hospital keep paying my medical, dental & life insurances and always there was a light duty job when I was able to work a little. I was off for parts of 2 and a half years. So I had some interesting light duty jobs. Take care and I hope you're back where you belong soon. Linda in Washington
Happy Birthday to Rick. I hope you can go back to your regular job soon. I pray that those places on Zoey will be ok. Those pear leaves are so pretty. Helen
