It always seems like I have one day when I just crash and burn. Usually following what was a good day. Today started out great. I was up at 6. Got washed up, dressed, did my exercises. Very little pain. Not bad at all. Tonight however I feel pretty crummy. I have terrible edema in my legs. My shoulder is really hurting tonight and I have a rash under my chin that itches terrible. I think it is from the block as it is only on my shoulder, neck and chin. Same place that was numb from the block.
Plus I am exhausted. Ran out of gas around 3 and never refilled. I don't think I over did it. Maybe it is just going to be my bad day. Maybe it is because of the exercises I am doing. I am suppose to be doing them also, it's not like I am doing too much.
My legs swell up fairly often but they have been pretty good lately. And being off my feet here lately they should be wonderful, not this huge and I have 3 + pitting edema to my knees. Trust me, that is way to much. Probably from the IV's I got. And I have a cold sore on my bottom lip. Poor me. Whine whine. Sigh.
Oh well, still all in all it hasn't been as bad as I expected. Hopefully it won't get worse. And for now I guess I had better restrict my fluids for awhile until the swelling goes away. And get my ice pack on, sit and watch a movie and take a pain pill. The good thing about tonight? Rick made me blackened trout, wild rice and corn. Yummy.
Well, time to go zone out with better living through drugs. See ya tomorrow.

Uh oh, a bad day! :( Tomorrow will be better, so hang in there.
This is going to be my third shoulder surgery, so I feel as though I am really getting it down pat. lol
I get the Michelin man legs too! 3+ pitting edema, all the way up. Absolutely grotesque, scary and sooooo uncomfortable. I ended up on 80 mg. of lasix this last time, it got so bad. So I just ordered some compression stockings and a thingie to move your feet, like a stepper only you can use it sitting. I am hoping these things will help.
On the plus side, all these things get better! So keep focusing on that. :)
Praying that today will be an all around better day for you Julie. Helen
Hang in there Julie. You know your body is busy mending after surgery and you can sit around and still be exhausted. You might be zoning, but you body is still fast at work rebuilding. Rick will take care of you, but tell him to sit beside you to do some of that too. Some hugs and company always makes the pain feel better and he needs not over do it either! Thinking of ya often, Skip & Vick
