I finally got a shot of the catbird that has been visiting the feeder. I hadn't seen it before and thankfully my bird book has it listed. Who would have thought I would be a birdwatcher. But we get so many.
The bird below is a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak. The male. Pretty cool.

We have 4 different woodpeckers that visit also but until I get them all I will wait to list them.
Saturday I had the family over for supper. We grilled steaks and I made potato salad, deviled eggs and corn on the cob. We had a couple bottles of wine. It was such a nice day out and it is good to be able to spend the days outside. The weather has not be very nice with rain and high breeze every day but that day so it was a treat.
I still haven't been on a bike ride. Way to windy. Wind is the enemy when you ride, especially when your in terrible shape, LOL. I have lost a total of 10 pounds though. Slow and steady. I cheat to often to lose quickly.
Well, I don't have anything really to say. Today I have to replace one of my flowers that bit the dust but so far none of them have been eaten by the deer, its a good thing. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

Thank you so much for naming your birds it makes such a difference to me on this side of the pond although I do have a US field guide but sometimes I don't know where to start as your birds are so different to ours. Your Saturday supper sounded yummee making me hungry as it is just about time for our main meal of the day here better go and cook. Love Joan
yeah....me too. I'm learning about birds, and who wouldda think it? I guess that's what happens to us when we put birdfeeders up.
You got a great shot of the catbird, and the grosbeak is a wonderful shot, too.
Good shot of those two birds. We only see the Grosbeak early in the spring and not much at that. We have the catbirds here. They sound like a cat squalling. There is always a pair that raises a baby. If something disturbs them then they set off that squaking. Stray cats have been catching baby birds here this spring and really upsetting them. I see them across another yard carrying them of. Makes me ill and downright mad. Helen
Sounds like an idyllic serene weekend hon. The meal for the family has my stomach growling. (Hugs)Indigo
I love seeing all the pictures of your birds. I want to put some feeders up but hubby thinks we will just get a bunch of crap all over. I do put my hummingbird feeder up and I get to enjoy them.
We are going to have a cookout next Monday and I hope the weather is nice.
