Monday Date night

When we started our Monday date night it was when we were staying at my FIL's while he was ill and dying. We needed a night we could get away and not think about what was happening. Now, we still do the date night.

We kept it up when my MIL was ill, we still do it. Now we have friends join us often. We sat on the patio today, discussing everything and anything. Our own Area 51 which Jimmy could understand. We discuss politics, quanta physics, History, the pro's and con's of cars back then and now. Anything and everything. Drink cold drinks and have hot subjects. Argue, laugh, and forget our problems and enjoy our lives. I learned today I once was a french soldier in world war one, having trouble with that one, and that if you sear the end of a poppy it will stay in a vase fresh and new for a week.

It is a good time. A time to energize the brain, keep the cobwebs at bay, learn new things. A time to not feel my aches and pains, to not worry about bills and work. To look at Rick and remember that he can laugh heartily.

It is a good life, reason enough to keep it up for now. Reason enough to be happy. Simple but true.

Your date nights sound so energising.
Debating with friends and enjoying their company along with your husband sounds just perfect!

Glad that you both had a good night. Good thing to keep that going. Wish I had of known about the poppy searing. Mine are gone now. A bunch of volunteers I had were beautiful. No I don't know anything about making drugs out of them LOL. Helen

It is like you took a picture of the baby robins that made a nest on my side door light. I think they are getting ready to fly away soon.
My hubby and I need to start doing date nights. I think it is a great way to just get away and reconnect.
Have a great day.

What a great thing to do! Then, when things happen during the week you can think about talking to Rick on Date Night about them. Love that idea!

All roads lead to Rome.....

That's a great idea Jules and I hope you continue the with the idea.

The good thing about getting together with your special someone and/or others is that it entertains the mind and soul.

In these times, any pleasant diversion is mentally and physically healthy. There's also the chance that you could get lucky, as well.

Jimmy
