Friday already

I can't believe it is Friday already. The time is just flying.

Today I am going shopping for my Thanksgiving items. I work almost every day until the day and need to get my supplies and Turkey. I am actually cooking this year so it should be interesting. Rick will be there to supervise. It's not that I can't cook, I do sometimes, its just that Rick is much better at it and likes to cook better then me. So I say, go for it big guy.

My oldest son just called. He works for waste management and his truck caught on fire. Yikes. He was able to jump out and put the fire out with his fire extinguisher which all the trucks carry, but it could have been serious. Its a rather dangerous job as it is without the trucks catching fire so I am grateful it turned out OK.

My wrist feels better today thank goodness. Mostly its the cyst that is bothering me. It has doubled in size this year and must be pressing on some nerves or something. I hope they can just pop it out and I can be back to work in no time. If it didn't bother me and interfere with my typing so much I would just ignore it but I type at work all the time and it really causes me some fits. I always said my job is lovely if it weren't for the paperwork, which is now-a-days typing work.

Work went well the other day. I had some nice patients although we were full it went well without problems. There were all experienced nurses on and it is nice as everyone knows exactly what to do. Not that I don't like the new nurses, I do, but when we are busy and you have 1000 questions to answer it can make it stressful. But we were all new once and we all learn. That is why it is great to partner up new staff with experienced staff.

It is cold and dreary out. Hard to get motivated to take any pictures. Here is a bare tree and gee, here is another bare tree. I am looking forward to those big fat snowflakes to see if I can capture some flakes with my macro lens.

Well, I had better quit. The warning on the bottom says this entry may fail. Hummmmm. I hope Dad gets his blog back. Didn't occur to me these might get lost in cyberspace also.

Hope the turkey turns out well. The countryside is looking a bit bleak just now but when the sun shines there is still a bit of colour here. Love Joan

I'm so glad your son is safe and managed to tackle the blaze on his own. Shouldn't he get a big bonus for saving the companys' truck?! It's cold and dreary here too but I'm not hoping for snow! I'm sure you'll do a great job with the Thanksgiving dinner! Jeannette xx

Well the leaves are mostly off the trees here in the Lakes and that gives the added bonus of more views of Lake Windermere from our bedroom windows. To everything there is a season..
We have lower temps and some hints of threatening snow or ice. I'm not happy about that as I want to travel out tomorrow night.
I'm glad your son was able to quell the fire in his vehicle. Thank God it wasn't worse!
Good to read that you are feeling a wee bit better too.
That's marvellous to hear/read.
Sending you a huggle.
Love
