Inner Peace

Inner Peace: This is so true

If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains,

If you can resist complaining and
 boring people with your troubles,

If you can eat the same food every
day and be grateful for it,

If you can understand when your loved
ones are too busy to give you any time,

If you can take criticism and
 blame without resentment ,

If you can conquer tension
 without medical help,

If you can relax without liquor,

If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

                   From a Cat's Diary

Day 983 of my captivity.  My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.  In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.  I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of.  However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking.  I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.  The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return.  He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant.  I observe him communicating with the guards regularly.  I am certain that he reports my every move.  My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.  For now... Will keep you posted.

It's a bike riding day

The weather is wonderful out and I am getting ready to take a long bike ride.   It is great to be on the bike again after the long winter we had.

I have been working out lately to a aerobics tape.   First time ever I used one of them.   I feel kind of silly but I can sure tell it is working by how sore I am.   I picked one a lady of my age had a prayer of finishing,  Walk at Home 5 Mile Walk.   I use weights and everything.   That has been going well.

So everything is going good.  I have a busy weekend planned.  I am going bike riding today and then cemetery's and tonight the Comedy club for some laughs.   Tomorrow I am going to the Pow Wow, we are having dancers from Canada and the surrounding area's so it should be great.  Plus they are having a flea market.   Then Roller Dames that night.  Sunday we are going to a history lecture about the early days of our city.  In between all that I plan to exercise.  I am going to be busy.

Bad news,  my wrist messed up again.  I don't know if I pushed it too soon since they said I was better or if it was just meant to be but the cyst is back twice as bad.  I don't know if the Kienbock's is back also but the pain I had before is back.  So I am back in my brace and see the doc next Wednesday.  Bummer.

Well, Rick is ready, time to ride.  Thanks to everyone that voted for Zoey.

A sweet little boy
surprised his grandmother one morning
and brought her a cup of coffee.

He made it himself
and was so proud.

He anxiously waited to hear the verdict
on the quality of the coffee.

The grandmother had never in her life
had such a bad cup of coffee,
and as she forced down the last sip
she noticed three of those little green army guys in the bottom of the cup.

She asked,
"Honey, why would three little green army guys be in the bottom of my cup?"

Her grandson replied,
"You know grandma, it's like on TV...

The best part of waking up
is soldiers in your cup."

Have a blessed day and make it a GREAT one!

Vote for Zoey

Hi all

I have really  gotten out of the habit of posting here.  But I am still around.   Spring is here so I am busy working on getting my flowers in.   There are so many new ones around now and I am having fun giving my beds and planters a different look.  So pretty.

Another thing with spring.   Bike riding season has started again.    We have had some really nice rides this week.  I am happy to see my legs aren't completely gone and riding is easier each time we go.   Which we are going to do today as soon as the man is ready.   He is so slow getting ready it is usually the hottest time of the day before we ride.

I am still using my fitness pal to log my foods and losing weight.   I am even exercising to a walking video.   Never thought I would do that but we dropped our gym membership due to costs so need something at home.   I feel kind of silly but only the old dog is there to watch me and she likes it.

Zoey is finally losing weight.  Down 5 pounds.   She has more energy and seems like a younger dog.   I told Rick if he wouldn't stop feeding her so much I was taking over the feeding.   He is doing better.

Otherwise not much going on.   I am paying pretty close attention to how the voting is going around the country and listening with dismay at how bad things are getting here with our taxes.   We are cutting down everyplace and getting rid of all unnecessary expenses and we truly believe we on the doorsteps of the greatest depression this country,  the world has ever seen.   I can't believe our government thinks destroying our economy will be the answer to their prayers.   Then what, what happens when we are on the government dole,  who works and pays the taxes?

So  I am thinking the future is going to be pretty grim.  I think we will see anarchy.   But even though I am planning to do all I can to try and vote in a new government, and I am saving money and building a food bank, I am not letting it cloud my joy of life.  I am working and riding and enjoying my family.  Making each and every day count.

great news Today

I saw my wrist doctor today.   My a miracle my Kienbock's has reversed itself and the blood flow returned to my wrist.  Yippy,  No surgery.  The surgery they were planning would have ended my nursing career.   And more great news.   The ganglion cyst I had taken out last year had returned.  It was huge.   They were planning to take it out also.   Well.....  last week it burst and is gone.  wow.  They don't know if it will come back but for now it looks like I won't have to have that surgery repeated either.  Happy Happy Joy Joy.   The odds of the Kienbock's being healed are huge.  Prayer must have helped.   The are cautiously optimistic it won't come back.

That was a close one.  Yippy...................................
