My wrist doesn't hurt as bad this morning and the steroid must be working. Thank goodness. Some drugs are good things.
I have been reading about Kienbocks disease. Gee, the carpel tunnel sounded much better. Apparently this is just going to progress and get worse. I haven't seen how long it takes to get worse, hopefully a long time. I have a feeling this may hamper my bike riding, LOL.
I feel slightly better about being so whimpy about the pain in my wrist though. I told the doc maybe my pain tolerance wasn't as good as I thought it was but he said with this, the bone dying is very painful and he is surprised I wasn't complaining more. So I don't know why but that makes me feel better. Still super woman, LOL..
I have a pretty blue cast to match the color of my true loves eyes, boy did Rick roll his eyes when I requested this color this way. And he was so great holding my hand when they injected the steroid. That is never pleasant. They did it under fluoroscopy so I could watch at the same time. Pretty cool, would have been cooler if it had been someone else but still pretty cool.
I wonder what my boss will say when I show up with a cast. I am not going to tell her, just show up and hope they have extra large gloves to fit over the cast. And hope I don't have isolation patients for awhile. This is going to be a pain. Hopefully I only have to wear it for 2 weeks. Then they will make me a brace to wear. There is no cure for what I have so most of the treatment is based on supporting the wrist and controlling the pain. Eventually down the road they may have to fuse the wrist but hopefully that is way down the road.
We are still getting snow and one of our interstates is closed. We have also been busier then bees at work. One night we got 9 admits. sick sick patients.
Well, time to go and get my laundry in. 2 more nights to work.
