How to read the Health care bill proposal

They always put so much cross referencing and gobbly gook in these bill you can have a hard time seeing what in actually in them. With this new one several entries have you going back to as proposed in plan one or two etc.... Or they will say, as outlined in 304 a and 4 d. I find the best way is take a couple of pages at a time, put them on word pad and just read them until I get the drift of what it says.

So here are a few pages I am up to now that I would like you to read and tell me. I think they sound scary. We heard about these. If you don't get their option you can be fined and this is what this part refers to. And what is this national trust fund and what about that risk study to determine if you as a small business owner has to many high risk individuals working for you to qualify for the insurance. So read and give me you take.

So I want you opinion on what this bill part says. I know what I think it will mean, the death of many a small business and especially small businesses who opted to keep on the elderly patient with the chronic diabetic say condition but who was otherwise a great worker type person. Among other things.. And this is just a few of the pages. Like I said. I am breaking them down and reading them over and over and doing the cross references.

This is why so many of our elected officials admit to not reading this stuff. Don't you think something as important as this should be in as straight and easy to read manner as humanly possible? But lawyers are writing these and they want all the loopholes covered. This is still the same original health care plan. Just more mumble jumble and with the vote of your elected official one that puts us smack dab into the socialized medicine we fought so long to not have.

Anyway. Thoughts. Are you all reading the bill?

Light Reading for the Weekend. The new healthcare bill

Yup, it just got posted. All 1990 hundred pages. I plan on reading every page. Hope my elected officials will. Of course Harkin is 100% for anything to tax us more and take away all our rights. He thinks this is just peachy. But fortunately I don't vote for him and this year I don't think anyone is going to. So check it out.

Healthcare reform bill.

Gee, where is his green czar? Think about how many trees have had to get chopped down and made into paper to send to all the elected elites that probably won't read it any way. But then I hear the commodity market is all set to make a fortune on the selling of carbon credits,( the real reason this global warming was created) anyway. Maybe he can just buy some extra on the market. While the rest of us crash and burn.

Another thing, this administration is suppose to be SO GREEN. The only green Obama is seeing lately is the golf course green. How green is all the junk they spray all over the grass to keep it looking that way. How many little critters bite the dust so he can get his game on. And for the record in case you haven't hear this already. He has played more golf in his 9 months then Bush played in his entire 4 years. On our dollar. And I think he surely has broken a record for TV spots and sound bites. After all, they did admit they control the airwaves. Well duh, we knew that. All but Fox which they are trying their best to destroy. Well I say, Yeah Fox. Someone with the guts to stand up to this madness.

Birthday day

If you click on the photos you can see them better.

We drove up to Omaha yesterday for Rick's birthday and had a great time. They have been fixing up their riverfront and it is so cool. Such great sculptures. The weather remained drippy but hey, it's fall. They have a great new walking/bike trial across the river that is way cool, don't you agree. And high when you get up.

And look at this face, even his neck wrinkles. So cool.

And his mural on the side of this building is awesome.

This wonderful clock is larger then life and wonderfully detailed.

We went and played some pool and had a great meal. Getting home really late so work came very early but thank goodness for dark coffee with a shot of espresso. Oh Yeah.

Tomorrow is my last day. It has been interesting. I am lucky I know that my job found things for me to do. I could have been a little more busy to make the time pass but getting a check, even though it is smaller then I am used to is a good thing. And I had several interesting jobs. I interviewed people, did survey's, teaching, typing typing typing, audits, you name it I did it. Today they brought another nurse to my office who is just starting his walking wounded duties, LOL. Good, I didn't get all the typing I needed to get done unless I finish it in the morning. Hope he heals up fast.

For his birthday I bought him a couple of books. We like those books and documentaries about people jumping on their motorcycles and traveling the world. So I got him Uneasy Rider by Mike Carter and 101 Road Tales by Clement Salvadori. So he was happy and I always am happy with new books to read.

So that's about it. Couple of things, did anyone else think it was distasteful for Obama to use the return of some of our fallen hero's as a photo op. Does he absolutely have to be in front of the camera at all times. And why I am on our hero's. Please send you prayers to all the soldiers. They need them all the time.

And. Just wondering, I wonder how much of the stimulus money went to paying for the signs, Your stimulus money at Work. They probably cost a pretty penny.

Hint for the day. Don't waste your money buying glycerin and trying to preserve the colors of fall. My leaves look terrible. Of course it is completely possible I messed up. And take care all. Are you all remembering to turn your clocks this weekend? Sigh.

Doctor Visit

Yesterday it was 6 weeks from my surgery and today was my post op visit. I was really looking forward to it as I knew if I asked very very nice I would get off my torturous day shift desk job. Seriously I am happy they had work for me to do, don't get me wrong. And there is nothing wrong with a desk job. But I am a floor nurse. I love patient care. And I have been missing it terribly.

I sit in my tiny stuffy office. Out in the halls I listen to the nurses visiting with their patients. Joking and doing what I love best to do. I look at the computer and sigh. It doesn't talk back to me. It is simply boring. And I am fast on the computer. So the jobs they give me to do are done way too soon. And nothing is worse then having nothing to do. I like being busy.

My computer was messed up also. The screen shimmers and shakes. There are ghosts in it. By the time I get home I have a throbbing headache. Finally I called the computer guy who told me the monitor was shot. They will replace probably after I am gone. The next walking wounded should at least have a better screen.

Tomorrow is Ricks birthday. I really want to celebrate and took the day off. He thinks he had another TIA last week. At the store he suddenly forgot how to write the check. I am so worried about him.

And Zoey. We found a new growth on her hind leg. Angry looking raised thing about the size of a large pea with a red rim and black crust on top. I need to get her into the vet on monday. Payday has to come first and she isn't acting like it bothers her. But she is having some problems and the other growths are larger.

Well, the leaves have all fallen off the trees. The leaves above are from our pear tree. I gathered them wet from the ground. They are all different colors. I tried to preserve them using glycerin like it said but the leaves still are turning brown. Fading fast, colors of fall, wish there was a way to make them last.

I signed up for a blog a day with my photo blog. I need to get out with my camera. Find me some new ghosts. If you want to play just visit the site. You don't need to take photos, just do an entry a day.

More Fall Leaves

Sunday

My son's carved a pumpkin yesterday, It looks like a pumpkin peaking out from the blinds. I think it is pretty clever don't you.

Still have wet moody days. Moist and damp but with that wonderful fall smell. Yesterday we had about a dozen deer, including momma deer and the 2 babies, digging through the leaves in the backyard and at least 2 dozen turkeys. Time to fill up and get ready for the lean months.

Rick and I are all recovered. He was only sick for a day or two and after a short relapse yesterday I feel better again. So I went out and got some pictures of leaves fallen from the pear tree. So pretty.

I got this in an email. Maybe it makes sense to me. So anyway, can't hurt right.

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at using a Neti pot, but *blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton swabs dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*

5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C. *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

Just read a headline. Should ambulances charge more for the obese. Sheesh. Why not charge extra for the really bloody or the pukers or how about the buggy ones. Heck, just blanket raise the already way to high costs. Cover us all in ridiculous charges. I would hate for anyone to feel left out.

Well, I have clothes to iron. I hate ironing. Why then do I seem to buy so many blouses that need it? I am a glutton for punishment. So see ya all later.. Oh and Hey, WTG Colts. 2 down
