I Owe, I Owe

And it's off to work I go. At 7 in the morning, Oh My! That will kill me. I am going to be doing chart audits and phone calls. I hope and pray there is enough of them to do to keep me busy. I hate just sitting at a desk being bored. But hey, its at my full pay. The bad thing is my PT. I still get to do it but we are down to one vehicle. And my PT is at 1 and I work until 3. So I am going to have to work, drive to where I get my PT and then drive back to work for 45 min. That eats up the gas. They would pay for me to take a cab but that seems pricey also. But anyway I start in the morning.

I am doing great with my PT. Of course the price of working hard is going back to work after only 2 and half weeks but I am doing everything I can to get my full arm movement back. So as long as I don't have to sit at a desk for 8 hours staring at a wall I am good. And I can take the lortabs if I need them.

I haven't worked days for years. I hate popping out of bed and running to work. I am more of a get out of bed, drink a few cups of coffee, sit in my jammies until 10 type of person. But if I went to work at 3 or my regular hours they would have to give me shift differential which is even more. They won't do that.

Well, I have to get some things ready. Wish me luck.

Empire State building to fly communist colors tonight

Yup, that's right. To celebrate China's 60 years of communism. They don't know know why some people are upset. After all they had the lights pink for breast cancer awareness, green for St. Patties Day. Well excuse me....... that is quite a bit different then celebrating a political party, especially one that got there through the deaths of thousands of people. It will be yellow and red. Red for all the blood spilled. Unbelievable. Well.... here is someplace I can cross off my bucket list, not ever going to go there. But then maybe since China holds our pink slip this was in the loan agreement.

Also heard more disturbing news. We are in a war in Afghanistan. Our soldiers are over there fighting each and every day. And I hear President Obama has only talked to General McChrystal once in 70 days? What! Bush talked to them each and every day. What does Obama do? Well, he goes on TV a lot. I mean A LOT! And now he is going to Copenhagen to push getting the Olympics in Chicago. Funny, where he wants it to be just happens to be on property of a friend of his. Valerie Jerritt, a Chicago slum load. Surprise, surprise. It pays to be friends with the Obama's. And in the meantime. Maybe it is safer for our soldiers not to have him messing with something he doesn't know anything about. Not something Community organizers had much experience with. Click here.

And last but just as disgusting. Roman Polanski. France and some Hollywood wacko's think the poor man should not have been arrested for "his little misdeed. After all it happened so long ago. And according to Washington it is just sex. But I applaud his arrest. His little misdead? Getting a 13 year old girl drunk and giving her drugs, then raping her and sodomizing her. May he rot. And France, let him slink around there so he wouldn't get arrested here. We have some more of those creeps around here if they want them. Ship them all there. For our children's sake.

So with all this junk going on I would be in a really funky mood except I did get my stitches out. Yippy. And they will be sending me back to work. But only if they can find something for me where I don't use my left arm. And a full pay check is much better then a small one. It is weird though. They would rather pay my full pay to sit at a desk and push a elevator button then stay at home and do my exercises and take my pain pills at 80% of my normal pay. Seems like it would be cheaper to leave me home until I can come back and work on the floor. Especially in my line of work. But whatever. As long as I can take a pain pill at the same time.

The doc's office was real impressed with how much range of motion I have gotten back. I am ahead of schedule. But I work at it also. The bad thing is going back to work will cut into my exercise time for my arm. I will have to see what kind of things I can do at a desk to build my strength. I also got the pictures on my shoulder. They said the ball joint part looked really good, no arthritis, a good thing. The first 2 pictures show the spur and fraying the best but you can see the fraying in a couple of other shots. Cool isn't what they can do these days

So now all I have to do is heal up. The worst pain is from where they shaved the bone off and they said it takes about as long as a broken bone to heal up. So I figure I have about 4 more weeks before that gets better. And I have my PT all scheduled for next week. Slow but sure.

It is cool here. We didn't have frost but it will be raining the rest of the week. Time to get out a light coat. And I finished my photo hunt. Tomorrow we post them.

Well that,s all folks. Take care.

Lovely Fall day

Well, it was a little cold actually and I did have to cover my plants as it may be frosty tonight..... but still it was a lovely day. Got my flu shot. And no side effects what-so-ever. I hope it makes a difference.

I can't talk Rick into getting one. Remember years and years ago Jimmy Carter talked everyone into getting a certain type of flu shot. Almost everyone, ourselves included, got sick as dogs. I believe they used a live virus if I remember. Anyway that shot has Rick and many others convinced that all flu shots make you sick. I felt that way for several years but they really push it at work so I broke down and got one several years ago. And I didn't get sick. Not only did I not get sick from it I had a really good winter.

The winter before that was similar to the one I had last year. Everytime I started to get over some crud I would catch another one. It was terrible. It was the first time I ever had pneumonia. I was still a smoker and I had bronchitis all winter. The first time I got the flu shot I went the entire winter without getting sick once. A miracle!

I haven't had as dramatic results every time but it does seem to help. Last year I missed it and was sick for a good portion of the year. And now with work really cracking down and cutting our sick time and PTO's I can't afford it. And I see the day coming if you didn't get the shot and do some preventive effort to not get sick, they will make it hard on you if you do. So got that covered.

Then I finished my Sept. Photo hunt. Finally just under the wire. Now I have to post them and then on the day they say open the post for my entry. All 30 shots. It was fun. I am proud of some of the shots.

My son got me a present today. I was not able to download the PSP a friend, you know who you are sent me and today I got home and he had gotten me PSP 8 and installed it for me. So cool. Now to learn how to use it. Hope I'm bright enough. Such a sweet son.

Well, that is why I am up so late also so I think I will close. I am sore tonight but took a pain pill. I have been doing great with my home exercises.

So what does everyone think about them wanted to get rid of school vacation? Think about having to go to school year round as a child. How awful. I lived for summers. What will that do to tourist trade? Disney? Everything? You have one time in your life to play and have fun. I think we should let them have the time. Just go back to teaching them correctly. Stop dumbing down the classes.

Well on that note. Ta.

2 weeks today

The time has just flown. I am now at the stage where the discouragement pops in. I want to be back to normal. I have so had it with the pain. Very old. I keep waiting for the better day which I know is around the corner but it can come anytime now. I can't even hold my arm across my chest without getting bad pain. Forget being able to unsnap my own bra. You take you joints for granted when they work well, you miss them when they don't.

So enough with the whining. I find myself needing a pain pill at least every 6 hours. I thought I would be done with them by now. But the pain is actually worse then it was initially. I suppose because I have increased the exercises.

Still haven't heard from the therapists on whether they will be able to fit me in this week or not. Now that ticks me off. I didn't go through all this just to have the ball dropped at the end. See, I am getting touchy here.

We have been walking everyday. Yesterday we park and get up on the path by the river and about get knocked on our butt. Winds blowing with gusts up to 50 and 60 mph. It was terrible. Zoey liked it but Rick and I called it a day after about a half mile.

I could feel the cool weather soon to come in that wind. I am so not ready. I don't want winter to come. But it will. So today I am going to go get my flu shot. I refuse to be sick all winter again.

I decided with winter right around the corner to show the last of the flowers still in bloom. So pretty. I miss them in the winter. Maybe it would be more bearable if there were flowers in the snow to cheer your heart.

Well, I just got a call from the PT, they can get me 2 times this week. I am going to talk to the doctor about this. They won't let me go to their therapists but I know they have a lot more people, they haven't cut jobs as far as I know. Maybe I should insist on that since they can't get me in like I am suppose to be seen. They may be sending me back to work tomorrow for all I know. I need the therapy now.

Hope everyone is having a great day and remember.... get your flu shots.

My Grandparents

The above shot is my grandparents. I look so much like my grandma in the face (body also, sigh) and I am named after my grandpa.

I went to the court house yesterday and got out of my jury duty until Jan. It was really easy. I thought I would need a doctors note or something. But it's not like I am refusing to do it, I just can't do it now.

One of the reasons I didn't want to do it now is I am suppose to have 6 weeks of rehab. 3 days a week. Well you know what? I am not scheduled at all next week. Because they are short staffed and can't fit me in. Why? Because my hospital and hospitals all over the country are cutting back. I got a letter yesterday they are cutting some of my benefits. Because they don't know where the future is going, or if there is a future in health care. Think about it, if that bill passes they say there will be healthcare for all. But no one to dish it out and long long long waits for the few that remain. Several doctors I hear plan on just quitting.

Anyway. I need that PT. I am a long way from recovered. I can't lift my arm behind my back. I am getting adhesion's. I can do the ones they told me to at home but I have no equipment to do some of them I do at PT. Tomorrow it has been 2 weeks.

Yesterday we drove around as I am still 2 shots short for my Sept Photo hunt. I am kicking myself for throwing away all my sheet music. I think tomorrow I will call a music radio announcer I know, plus he also plays in a jazz band, and see if I can get some shots of them playing and have their music on a stand in front of them. I think they play Thursday. And I need a shovel. At the art fair I saw a great shovel. I wanted to buy it in fact. I was all decorated with rocks and beads to look like a face, really cool. Course I did't have my camera. But I am happy with my shots so far. 2 left to find. The shovel and the music.

Oh another weird thing. I have told you about the sorry excuse for a father I had in the past. Anyway apparently the other day a half sister we had just heard rumors about called up my aunt. She wanted to know more about the father she was stuck with. I told my aunt she could give her my phone number but I haven't hear anything from here. I haven't been home much though.

I see the doc on Tuesday. His PA actually. Get my stitches out yippy. See when they plan on sending me back to work. Frankly I am not ready. I still need the lighter pain med as this raw bone pain in my shoulder gets pretty bad. But I will do what they say. With them cutting benies at work, some of which are sick leave and PTO's maybe I had better just suck it up and get there. Wish I could have gotten more then 1 week of PT though. I found a pulley thing on line I am thinking of buying. Suppose to be great for shoulders.

Well, time for the shower.. Carefully, LOL.

The day after a really bad day

Yesterday was a bad day. I hurt. Was it the PT or the fall. I had to take the strong pain medication yesterday night. However....

Today was better. I had PT today. I told her yesterday was either a bad day because of my increase in exercising... or my fall. Must have been the fall.

PT was better today. More pain while I was doing but not increased pain today. So we went to the comedy show because laughing is the best medicine. And the comics were awesome. I laughed so hard. Which is good, for your blood pressure, your stress, and your pain level.

Thats all tonight, time to watch a movie and have some coconut pie, Ta all.

Don't go squeezing my Charmin

You know, lots of changes these days, lots of taking away things and saying this is bad for you and this is bad. But they better leave their hands off my double ply toilet paper. Ole Drew Barrymore can stay in the woods as long as she wants using leaves and bark to wipe her well paid behind but this ole lady wants her soft double ply.

Yeah I know I know, it is made from a tree in the rain forest that is being cut down daily threatening the death of the rain forests. Well I read that they regrow faster then we can cut them down. Just try not mowing your yard for a month, see all the little trees popping up all over. Same thing in the rain forests.

And even agreeing we don't want to destroy our rain forests. We can send a man to the moon for heaven's sake. Don't tell me with all our technology we can't come up with a soft alternative to toilet paper? Is this what the dumbing down of our schools has come too? Make it a high school science project. I bet there is some bright kid out there whose parents refused to put on ADA meds that could come up with something better, cheaper, and maybe softer.

You know what is wrong with out country? Fanatics. That's whats wrong. Let them all move to the woods, hugs a tree or 2 and wipe with leaves that may have spiders on them if they want. I am a nurse. The best thing that ever happened to cut down disease and illness in the world was good hygiene. And I plan on practicing that forever. So along with stockpiling real light bulbs, now I have to stockpile my double ply. Because some things a woman just has to have.
