Klutz

I was taking my shower today and for the first time in my life I slip and fell. And of course reached out to stop my fall with my bad arm since I had something in my other hand. Ouch. Bent my fingernail straight back, banged my knee up and my shoulder is smarting pretty good. I iced it and took a pain pill. Sheesh. As if it doesn't hurt already.

PT is going well. I am now using what looks like pedals on a bike only you use your arms to pedal. That actually felt pretty good, got rid of some of the stiffness. So now I am up to passive range of motion, isometrics, and pedaling. I imagine I will be pretty sore again but it is lovely to be using this arm again.

The weather is cool and cloudly, suppose to rain later. Dreary weather. I was going to try and finish up my photo shoot but I want a little more sun for the shots I have in mind. So I guess I will wait.

Can't think of anything else to say so ta.

Its been a week and a day

I can't believe it has been over a week already. All those weeks and days dreading this and then boom, it was upon me. And now its been over a week. Next thing I know they will be sending me back to work and this whole thing will be behind me. Life goes on.

I at this time can honestly say I am having more pain then I did originally. So the block did work some. But most of it is because I am exercising my arm. For 9 months I hardly used this arm. It is so weak. My muscles are jelly. Fear of tearing the rotator cuff completely kept me from doing more then the doc said. But I am paying for it now in months of wasting of my muscles. My arm spasms and quivers and hurts from the exercises. But I am going to do them, and more. The alternative is going through all this surgery for nothing. I want my arm back.

I see the doc on the 29th. My work comp lady will be there. I am worried they will send me to work but hopefully it will be light duty. I still have 5 weeks at least of PT. I hope they let me finish it. Work me part time so I can do my exercise. Plus, the really sucky news.

I just got a note that I was picked for jury duty next month. What terrible timing. I am going to call and see if I can get a medical release. I think the doc would sign off. Maybe Rick could go in my place. He likes those things.

I have been working on some photos in my Photo as art series. They are fun to work on and I am having them made into note cards and selling them. They have been going pretty good and it doesn't cost much to get started on them. Plus it is kind of fun to do.

And I have almost got my Sept finds all found. What fun.

Rick is grilling me a steak and I am not doing any pain pills today. Going to see if wine works better, LOL. PT tomorrow. I hurt all day after he is done moving my shoulder around. But whatever it takes to get rid of the scar tissue.

I see the call for help sight is closing and Mary has gone private. Many people have quit posted at all. My armchair trips around the country and world are narrowing. It is a sad thing but all good things do come to and end. I miss them all. I never got to say goodbye to most.

Hint for the day. Jello.
Watch seedlings grow roots. For a great science experiment for children, grow seeds in Jell-O and observe the root structures. (Before planting the seeds in Jell-O, sprout the seeds. Cut a three inch strip from a sheet of Bounty Paper Towel, dampen, and lay it on top of a strip of Saran Wrap. Place the seeds on top of the paper towel at the intervals recommended on the seed packet. Cover with another strip of damp Bounty Paper Towel, then roll the paper and plastic together, place in a Ziploc Storage Bag, and store in a warm place. When the roots begin to sprout, plant the seeds in a clear cup or glass filled with Jell-O.)

A rare thing

I called the doctors office to get something less strong for pain. I tried PT with just tylenol and it was a little more painful then I liked. The nurse said she has never had anyone call and ask for something less strong. Now maybe I can control my pain a little better without being cotton head. Started Isometrics exercises today. You would be surprised at how much that hurts being its so simple.

Everyone who has any doubts about how terrible this health care bill could be should read this article by Michael Connely. He is a Constitutional Law Instructor who has read the entire bill and breaks it down. This bill would be the largest ever government control seizure in our history. It affects every single one of us and if you haven't been paying attention you had better start. If your a parent, a grandparent, heck, if your a living breathing human being this bill is going to affect you negatively, except maybe not if your a member of this government because we all know now they will be exempt from this bill.

I am feeling slightly more hopeful these days. The public has been able to delay the voting on this bill long enough for us all to read it. By now no one can use the excuse they didn't read this bill and if your elective official tries that they should be run out of office. And if they vote yes for this they should be run out of office. Over a million people showed up in Washington to let them know we do not support this and if they aren't listening they should not be in office. Remember. We elected them to represent us. Us.

So anyway. Please rent the article in the link. It's important. Today. I am getting ready for PT. I have some questions so I am glad I am going. Last night it rained but yesterday we had a lovely day. I got some cool shots. We were walking and scared up a couple of garter snakes. Very bright and pretty they must has shed recently. So I got some shots of them. I love snakes. Look at that cute little red and black tongue. I had to keep touching it to get it to stick it tongue out and then when I would try to take the shot it would stop. But I did get a couple. And we walked though the rose garden which still had several blooming so I got some shots. It was a nice day for a walk and I did better, no near pass out episodes.

Well, I guess I had better get into the shower. After my PT I am going to call the doc and see about getting something different for pain. My arm is burning today. And I want to find out what they used to clean my skin. I guess I had better list it as an allergy. Otherwise I have not plans. It is cool. I think spaghetti sounds great for supper. Yummy.

Tip for the day.

Chrome Fixtures

If not properly maintained, chrome fixtures can become dull and cloudy. After cleaning a bathroom, you want your chrome fixtures to sparkle! For blinding brilliance, make a paste of baking soda and dishwashing liquid. Apply this to your chrome fixtures and rub clean with a cloth. Warm vinegar will also make your bathroom shine. Here's an additional bathroom cleaning tip: To clean stains from your bathroom chrome and tile, use baby oil! Wipe off with a cloth diaper for a lint free shine.

The Sunday edition

Yesterday was the first day I felt like really getting out of the house. So we went to the art fair at the park and I bought a glass egg and a really cool purse. They had so many neat things I wanted to buy, oh to have lots of money, plus lots of room. As I was standing in line to pay for purse I started to get dizzy, broke out in a sweat and everything started to sound distant. Oh man, please don't let me pass out here and make a fool of myself. How embarrassing would that be. VERY. I felt like how that picture above looks, that is why I used it.

We went and sat for awhile and I felt better but who weird. I hadn't taken anything for pain so except for the fact we hadn't eaten anything so far I don't know why that happened except maybe I am less recovered then I thought. I have the feeling either my blood pressure dropped or my blood sugar.

Well after I sat for awhile I felt better so then we went downtown to the chili and salsa cook off. I have to say, Ricks chili would have beaten anything we tried and one of women I work with had much better salsa. But that was fun. The weather was perfect and it was great to be outside again. Then we went to the art center and checked out the new exhibit. I am thinking about taking up my drawing again. I used to live for drawing and art. I did pottery, pastels, drawing, wood carving. The I had kids and slowly never had the time. I used to be pretty good. Not as good as my brother or my son but pretty good. So, maybe I will give it a go again.

After that I was done in so we came home and I finally got the dinner we were going to have the other night. And today. I am going out looking for my Sept photo hunt items. I have a few things I know I want shots of and will see what else I can get.

Now for my shoulder. It has been smarting pretty good. I am thinking of calling the doc and seeing if I can get something different for pain. I don't need something as strong as I have and it knocks me out, but the tylenol isn't quite enough. Plus the rash I have is still there and spreading down my side and back. I think it may be from the stuff they use to clean your skin before surgery as it is still just on my left side. I think a drug reaction the rash would be all over. But I thought it would be gone by now and it itches. So at night I have been taking benadryl which also makes me tired. I hate being tired. My shoulder hurts when I try to raise it or put my arm behind my back, that really smarts and I just can't do it. I can lift my arm up to the front but not up from my side. I keep getting this crunching feeling in the joint so I am concerned I am already getting adhesion's. And my bicep hurts. The little incisions look good though. I get reactions from sutures so have been keeping an eye on them. Don't need an infection there.

Well, that's about it. The weather is getting cooler. Fall is in the air. Next the winter. I had such a bad winter last year. Moody and sick all the time. I hope it is better now. Hope everyone had a great weekend.. Ta

Oh My, The news reads like a comic strip

The news has me laughing out loud this morning. First I read about the airport in California installing kiosks to sell you carbon credits so you won't be quilt ridden on your plane ride and then I read about Michelle Obama's trip to the farmer's market. Gee, how many carbon credits did it take for her to zip to the store and buy that fresh produce. I hope she stopped and purchased some carbon credits from ole Al Gore before she went.

Tell you what Californian's, ( yes I do know its not all of you). I will sell you all my carbon credits for less then you can buy in the airport. I will sell you my dogs and Ricks also. Since we live in the midwest we probably use less then you and have more to sell. Just send the check here or I do accept paypal.

And wasn't Michelle growing her own little organic garden in the back yard of the white house? Now we know how she got those arms. Pulling weeds, working the soil. Plucking those ripe tomatoes off the vine. Yeah right.

This carbon credit scam always reminds me of the Nigerian scams I was always subjected to when I had my business. Please Madam, let me buy this from you for 20,000 dollars more then it is worth so I can move some money out of huge estate my king father left me, you keep the change. And the carbon credit scam is legal. Only our government could pull something like this off. Give til it hurts, and then give some more Madam. Trust me.............

PT

My PT went well. I like the therapist. He was very gentle. As suggested I took a pain pill about a hour before and it went well. It wasn't scream out loud painful. He was impressed with how much range he could get. Me too. I can't lift my arm by myself though. Weak weak weak. But that will come. My muscles also wanted to spasm throughout the therapy but he says that is normal. So all in all, not a bad thing.

I am sore tonight though, he said I would be. Hopefully each day will get better. Isn't Zoey cute above. My nurse dog has been doing all she could to make me feel better. She is saying, I feel your pain. Right now she is laying at my feet. Ready to leap up and trip me whenever I move. Such a sweetie.
